The workshop tackled the opportunities and challenges related to achieving the demographic dividend, especially in countries throughout sub-Saharan Africa, and equipped attendees with information and skills to contribute to moving the demographic dividend agenda forward. Workshop speakers discussed metrics and methodologies used to quantify the economic impact of 1) the demographic transition and 2) gender equality and women’s participation in the formal labor market.
